Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern

I believe the most effective therapy happens when it feels like a real conversation between two people. My approach is rooted in Person-Centered therapy, where I see myself as a "sherpa" rather than the expert. My goal is to walk alongside you, offering support and guidance as we navigate your unique landscape together, ensuring you feel seen and heard at every step.
My path to the counseling room has been shaped by a rich variety of life chapters. I served as a musician in the United States Marine Corps, playing the flute, piccolo, and piano. I spent over 25 years as a professional music educator, and co-owned a woodworking and art business. These roles taught me the value of discipline, the beauty of the creative process, and the importance of fostering psychologically safe environments where people can truly grow.
In my clinical work, I am deeply drawn to supporting individuals through the complexities of life transitions. I have a special interest in working with those navigating pregnancy loss, postpartum depression, and chronic pain, as well as parents raising neurodivergent or special-needs children. As a mother to a blended family of seven, I have a personal and professional understanding of the intricate dynamics, boundaries, and emotional resilience required to manage a large, modern family.
When I’m not in the office or working toward my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, you’ll likely find me playing music, reading, knitting, painting, or hiking or biking outdoors. I also love traveling and most importantly, spending quality time with my family.
