Hello! My name is Mel (they/them) and I'm glad you're here. Often, when people start therapy, they feel as though they have too much on their hearts and minds to bear - I am here to create a space where you don't have to carry that weight alone. I currently offer individual therapy to adults and am especially passionate about working with neurodivergent and LGBTQIA+ clients, as well as people living with chronic illness or disability. My approach is anti-oppressive and collaborative. I draw from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), person-centered therapy, compassion-focused therapy, and harm reduction principles.
In practice, that means we might explore how you want to navigate your mental health in the context of systems that don’t always support you, build tools that actually work for your life, and practice relating to yourself with more curiosity and compassion.
Outside of work, I like slow walks with fast audiobooks, spoiling my dog, singing in a community choir, and gaming with friends. I'm looking forward to meeting you!
