Hello! I’m so grateful you’re here. Maybe you’re questioning something in your life, wondering what comes next, or simply looking for a change. You’re in the right place, and I’d be honored to help.
Before becoming a therapist, I had a number of careers, and I love bringing bits of my “previous lives” into my practice (yes, that’s meant in both ways!). My path to counseling grew from a longtime interest in therapy and teaching. When my first child started school, I learned about the shortage of school counselors and felt called to make a difference for children and families. I returned to school and earned my Master’s in Education, focusing on School Counseling, from the College of William & Mary. My undergraduate degree is in Fine Arts, with a concentration in Industrial Design, from the University of Illinois. My background in education and the arts continues to shape my creative approach to therapy.
I work with individuals across the lifespan, from the Silent Generation to Gen Alpha, as well as couples and families. I’m passionate about supporting queer and transgender children and adults, navigating relationship concerns and life transitions, and creating an open, affirming space for multicultural counseling. I especially enjoy helping children with behavioral challenges find constructive ways to express their needs and supporting siblings and families through difficult times. I believe creativity and humor can be powerful parts of healing, too!
My approach is client-centered and strengths-based. I want to help you recognize your power and uniqueness, rebuild your confidence, and give yourself permission to take up space. I draw from family systems theory, attachment theory, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), tailoring our work to your needs and goals.
I welcome clients of all ages and backgrounds, including individuals, couples, and families. My additional training includes ADHD, childhood mood disorders, suicide assessment and crisis management, and autism.
I believe therapy is valuable for therapists, too, and that growth and learning are lifelong pursuits. Outside of work, I recharge by playing piano, reading, and spending time with my children. I also enjoy photography, baking, laughing at silly videos, and staying connected with my best friends scattered across the country.
Whether you’re navigating parenting challenges, relationship concerns, or a major life transition, I hope to offer a supportive space where we can recognize your strengths, explore new perspectives, and find a way forward together.
